“Be cheerful, but let your cheerfulness be genuine, stemming from a conscience free from sin.” St. Don Bosco 1815-1888

The Advertising and Media Industries just ended their 7th Annual Advertising Week in New York City.

In the All-Star Chrystal Ball Tech Seminar, one of the panelists talked about sitting around with colleagues and talking about what it means to be “authentic.”

Perhaps if they had a conscience “free from sin” — as Don Bosco suggests, rather than “being stupid” — as the Ad World suggests (see current Diesel “Be Stupid” advertising campaign), they would be on their way to understanding and experiencing what it means to be authentic.

The traveling relics of St. Don Bosco are on display at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC until 10/2.
