Hanna'sJourney-vonHeinz (2)Hanna’s Journey, by German filmmaker Julia von Heinz (right), is a serious romantic comedy about a 20-something German woman who goes to Israel, to work with mentally ill patients and Holocaust survivors, for the purpose of enhancing her CV.

The movie’s charm is in the young people, three generations removed from WWII, dealing with heavy history and their own shortcomings.

After watching the film, one can’t help but feel that the so-called ‘Holocaust industry’ is making it difficult for people to get a clear understanding of the war’s history—why the Holocaust happened and how it can be avoided in the future.
