Same Sky

Henri Bendel in New York City and Same Sky hosted an evening of ‘ethical shopping’ 6/27 with new arrivals at the store and Same Sky jewelry.

Same Sky employs women in Africa, living with HIV/AIDS, to make hand crocheted necklaces and bracelets — providing them with a platform to sell in the global marketplace. Founded by Francine LeFrak in 2007, with 4 artisans, Same Sky now employs over 75 artisans in Rwanda and Zambia.

In the top photo Francine is seen talking about specific women in Africa who have benefited from working with Same Sky.

Miss USA 2012, Olivia Culpo, was on hand and can be seen here wearing a Same Sky bracelet. The jewelry line ranges in price from $30-$400 and now includes men’s cuff links ($100).
