The world would split open.”

From among the few remaining, ‘back in the day,’ gems of New York, the Renee & Chaim Gross Foundation (526 LaGuardia Place), is home to the artworks and extentive art collection of Chaim Gross (1904-1991) — under the care of his daughter, artist Mimi Gross.

Art lovers would do well to make the trek to the Foundation’s Greenwich Village headquarters (former home and studio of Chaim Gross) which is presenting “Circus and Vaudeville” (through July 29, 2016), with works by: Benny Andrews, Bil Baird, Marc Chagall, Chaim Gross, Mimi Gross, Robert Gwathmay, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Emmanuel Mane-Katz, Reginald Marsh, Elie Nadelman, Pablo Picasso, Moses Soyer, Raphael Soyer, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Abraham Walkowitz & Carl Walters.

On March 20 the exhibition will include Circus in Motion: Art & Practice. 2PM lecture and demonstration with Elsie Smith, Co-Founder & Artistic Director of the New England Center for Circus Arts.
